biofuels emit 400 percent more CO2 than regular fuel PUPPETEER

A recent report by the European Union has shown that biofuels or fuels made from living organisms, renewable sources, is not really so beneficial to the environment. Instead of reducing net carbon footprint as expected, biofuels can produce four times more carbon dioxide pollution than fossil fuels.
biofuels like corn ethanol, which has become a popular additive in gasoline, and biodiesel from soybeans, which is being used in commercial trucks and other diesel vehicles, are often considered environmentally friendly because are renewable. But to grow enough of these crops used for food and fuel, large swaths of land throughout the world are becoming breeding grounds for the cultivation of biofuels.
In other words, millions of acres of lush tropical forests are turning into corn and soybean fields in order to provide sufficient of these resources for their new uses. The net carbon footprint to grow crops for fuel is much greater than what is emitted from fossil fuel use simple.
Having a healthy food supply to last only makes sense
According to the report, U.S. soybeans are indirect carbon footprint of 340kg of CO2 per gigajoule (GJ), while diesel and gasoline to create only 85kg/GJ. Similarly, rapeseed, a plant similar to the North American canola, indirectly because the land produces additional 150kg/GJ other nations has been converted for the cultivation of rapeseed for food to replace crops native now grown to fuel.
Ironically, the amount of direct and indirect resources used to grow food for fuel is quite high compared with that of conventional fossil fuels. Biofuels also do not burn as efficiently and can be hard on the engines of fuel. Ethanol-enriched gasoline can also reduce the mileage of gas efficiency by more than 25 percent, depending on the vehicle.
Growing food for fuel just by increasing food prices for consumers. It also puts additional pressure on families, many of whom are already struggling to make ends meet under current economic conditions.
When all is said and done, biofuels seem to be a lot of propaganda, without many of the benefits. Environmentally, the prosecutor and practice, biofuels are a disaster. Fossil fuels can not be an ideal form of clean energy, but at this point in time, make more sense than biofuels. Sources
